About Urban Healing Institute

Urban Healing Institute LLC is rooted in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and serves individuals, families, and organizations across the Merrimack Valley. We help people build healthier relationships, navigate conflict, and create lasting change through education, community connection, and healing.

Founded by Angel “Ace” Vasquez, our work draws on lived experience and community outreach. Alongside Andy Polanco, Director and co-facilitator, we create welcoming spaces for honest conversations, accountability, and personal growth.

We believe healing strengthens individuals and stronger individuals help build stronger communities.

Our Leadership

Angel “Ace” Vasquez — Founder & Executive Director
Angel brings lived experience and a background in community outreach, youth engagement, and violence prevention to UHI’s work.

Andy Polanco — Director & Co-Facilitator
Andy partners in delivering workshops and facilitating conversations focused on healthy masculinity, relationships, accountability, and healing.

Anne Abreu, LMHC — Clinical Director

Anne Abreu is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and serves as Clinical Director of Urban Healing Institute LLC. She brings a clinical perspective to UHI’s work supporting healing, personal growth, and healthier communities. Anne also independently owns her own mental health counseling practice.
